After reading the synopsis, I knew I had to read this book. Love transcending time, yes please. The premise really drew me in, but the execution left something to be desired. The pacing was very slow and thus caused my mind to wander while I was listening to the book.

The story deals with some very difficult topics and I really felt for Shosh and Evan throughout the story. I couldn’t imagine the pain of loosing my sister or being abandoned by my father for his new family. I enjoyed how the historical fiction flashbacks were woven into the story. I enjoyed seeing the progression of the characters. I love a good coming of age story.

The narration of the story was really well done. It helped to listen to the book as parts of the story are told in verse. The male narrator is definitely not a singer though. Sorry to say.

Overall, this is an interesting YA romance. I just wish the pacing had been better.
