I was drawn to this book based on the cover. I wasn't sure where the story was going beyond the fact that it was a romance novel. Overall, it was more about friendship and family than love. It also discusses the idea of going through difficult discussions and family issues such as a cancer diagnosis, a sibling/family member's death, depression, anxiety, and what to do when you finish high school. These questions draw the two main characters together in a remarkable way that would be too difficult to explain in a review and I wouldn't want to anyways.

The text goes between present time and the far past. It also goes into the future at the end of the book to tie up loose ends. The cover was adorable and makes sense with the novel overall. I would be happy to read more work from this author. It was a quick, but cute read that I thoroughly enjoyed while reading.
