This doesn't seem like the kind of YA that will pull its punches just because the target audience isn't "adults." The voice is raw and unique, with biting dialogue interspersed with long mental trains of thought by whoever happens to be narrating the chapter. However, the cursing, partying, angsty teen vibe just isn't for me right now, and while the long internal ramblings make for an interesting style, it didn't appeal to my tastes.
