I loved the cover! Reminded me of another romance novel that I thoroughly enjoyed. However, this particular excerpt didn't come anywhere close to the other novel. I got confused when the timelines switched from the present to the past in the year 1832, Paris. But perhaps it will get clearer as the novel progresses. However, just based on the excerpt, I don't think that I would want to read anymore of Shosh (weird name,) Evan, Solvi and Etienne. I'm sure other readers will enjoy this novel. I'm not one of them, unfortunately.
