I picked up this book because I have enjoyed Gayle Forman's work in the past. Her books normally pull me in and keep me thinking about the characters long after I have finished reading. I did not get that sense with I Have Lost My Way. This book was just okay in my opinion. The characters were interesting enough to get me through to the end, but once the book had come to a close I promptly forgot about them.
I listened to the audiobook version which was very well done. The voice acting was good and kept me engaged throughout the story.
This gets three stars because it was a good escape. In the moment I was curious about Freya's lost voice, Harun's hard decisions, and Nathaniel's tragic past. I just know that in a year or two, the story-line and characters will slip from my memory and be lost.
