I devoured this book. I Have Lost My Way is the first Gayle Forman book and I had no idea that it was an YA title. It was written so well and was not sappy or overly predictable as many YA titles can be.
The three main characters are young, clever, and compelling. A closeted Muslim- reeling from his first heartbreak. An online singing sensation whose career has cost her a relationship with her sister. A young boy who was thrust into the world of mental illness by all of the adults in his life. The story of each intertwines around the loss that they have each experienced. Loss of family, loss of love, loss of the kind of childhood that could have been creep up on each of them much as a "frog in a pot doesn't know it is being boiled".
