I love YA and this book screams that it is YA from the cover. However, just seeing Gayle Forman's name on it, alone, is enough to make me instantly buy it, without anything more than looking at the front cover.
The title gives it a sense of mystery, yet is one that almost anyone can relate to. We all loose our way at some point, and connecting with the characters is what makes or breaks a book for me. So, I know right from the get go that I will most likely relate and relate to the main character and that it will already be beautifully written because it's by Gayle Forman, so this book is immediately at the top of my list to read.
While I do prefer covers that have an actual person on them, this cover is still appealing enough to catch my eye on the shelf and the title sounds great! I honestly can't say that I have seen another cover like this, so it makes it stick out, and would be easy to describe to another and have them know exactly which book you're talking about, even without an author or title!
