This is a wonderful tale of three teens, Freya, Harum and Nathaniel, who have lost themselves. Freya has lost her voice and the future she thought was a given. Harum has lost his boyfriend, and agonizes over sharing the truth of his sexuality with his family. And Nathaniel has lost an eye and a father that both loved him and scarred him mentally and emotionally. Following a rather unexpected meeting in Central Park, the three move onward together, each facing their losses with their companions and finding their independence, self-respect and love along the way. I can't wait to share this title with my teenage daughter. It's a wonderful story of courage and fear and finding commonality between ourselves as human beings trying to make their way in the world.
