Jamison Shea grabbed me right from the title and that amazing cover. And it only went up from there! The writing is compelling, brilliant, and sucks you in. With every additional sentence I wanted to know more about what was going to happen to Laure. Also, who is Josephine? What happened to her? How did they get there in the first place? How will this turn out??

Also, I do love a ballet novel. The emotional intensity of being a pre-professional dancer is an excellent backdrop for this story, because it tells me how far our protagonist is willing to go, after the extensive and intensive nature of her dance training, the need for absolute perfection, the infinitesimal odds of success. How does this drive other areas of our heroine's life?

I enjoyed the unique personalities of the characters as they are introduced to us as well, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they develop throughout the novel. Will this high stress time break them apart?
