This books is about being excluded at every turn; LGBTQ, BIPOC, Female, not charismatic, grew up without an ivy league parent funding your every whim. Laure has done everything they've asked and more, gone above and beyond to out perform her peers... and still she can't meet their expectations. Still they exclude her, mock her, shun her, make up excuses to keep her out of the spot light. Fed up with it, when offered power, Laure dives right in.

The author includes accurate TWs at the beginning, I'd only add to it that the intrusive thoughts the MC has are vivid and so win, so be careful with that.

This is a gloriously ominous horror story that has you rooting for the MC, even when she does some less savory things, even as she leans into the "villain" of her villain era and sees if she likes it. I greatly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone more a fan of psychological horror than gore.
