I was hoping to love this book. I loved the concept from the preview/synopsis and the cover it gorgeous. Unfortunately, that is where my love ended. I didn't like the entire book as a whole. The story could have been better. The idea was there, but it didn't reach its full potential. I kept thinking while reading, "it has to get better" and forced myself to read the whole thing. I got to end and thought "why did I even read this?" I could have stopped after the first chapter and been fine without reading the rest of the book. I don't take this review lightly because I rarely stop reading a book and do not finish it. I felt no connection to this novel and the writing was simple. The names were the most interesting and unique part of the story. I also rarely give a book one star because that means I absolutely hated it. It seems like it has an opening at the end to continue, but I, for one, will not be reading a second novel.
