Interesting and dark!
Been wanting to read this book for a while because the cover is gorgeous but it ended up not being for me.
I knew ballet was tough on the body but these descriptions were a little too much for me (body horror). Also, the industry is cruel and we see all of this first-hand from the pov of a black girl in France. That said, all of these things can be a good thing. The writing is powerful and creates visceral reactions, not just the gore but the characterizations, and the depths that the MC will go to to get what she wants. She's not a "good" character, but she's definitely interesting and a "take matters into my own hands" type of person, determined, angry, and ready to bend the world to get what she deserves. I don't often read books like this (I don't come across them often) so in that sense, I did like reading this since I like to explore genres when I can
