I feed her to the beast and the beast is me is Jamison Shea's debut novel. It's a young adult horror. My first impression was that it's a sick cover with a wicked title. This book follows our main character Laure Mesny, a perfectionist who is tied of being overlooked in the rough and often racist world of ballet. This is where she is tempted into making a deal with a sort of devil, primordial power and adoration for her soul. I was happy with the queer representation in this book, and I really like the horror aspects. This book was over 300 pages, but truthfully it didn't feel like much happened. I think certain moments needed to slow down. I found the other friends Laure made fascinating but hated her best friend from the start. I would for sure also read whatever this author writes next. I'd recommend if you like diverse characters and young adult horror
