First of all, the cover for this book is absolutely STUNNING! I knew I was going to love this book just based off the cover alone!
But my interest for this book goes way back, before I had ever even seen the cover. I first heard about this book on social media, before the author even had an agent. I thought it sounded like an amazing concept, and I'd been hoping to read it ever since. Fast forward to the publication announcement, and I was so pumped that this story was actually going to be published. I was so excited to read this book, and it did not disappoint.
It's pitched as Ace of Spades meets Black Swan, and I would say that's a fairly accurate depiction! I am a sucker for stories about ballerinas doing questionable things to get ahead of the competition, and that's exactly what this book delivered! This story talks about how race, privilege, and wealth can get someone ahead, pushing talent and hardworking aside. It's a unique world that talks about real world problems. I would highly recommend!
