I really enjoyed this book! The title itself is a banger, and I don't know how anyone can resist looking into the book further from there. I was pleased to see that this line is actually a line in the book, so the poetic nature of the title translates well to the at times lyrical nature of the writing itself.

I don't know what it is about ballet and horror, but it's like a match made in heaven. Perhaps it's simply that something so beautiful is difficult for the brain to comprehend as "real." Further, the cutthroat nature of the the training and discipline over one's body is ripe for exploration. The tone of the book was creepy and atmospheric, and I think will appeal to many YA horror fans.

I also enjoyed the main character and her story. In many ways, this is a villain's origin story, but done in a way that is understandable. Many of her choices were the least of two evils, but I particularly enjoyed it when she fully committed to being the person she was becoming.

Definitely a good read for anyone's Halloween list!
