First off what really drew me into this book was the cover. It is so beautiful. I enjoyed this novel about the cut throat environment of a elite ballet company with a bit of horror thrown in. I really enjoyed Laure's character and seeing what she would sacrifice to gain status and power within the company. Because of her background, she doesn't feel like she belongs. I would have liked to know more about her mother and father and why she won't speak to them. It was interesting to see how her so called best friend started being horrible to Laure after she started climbing the ladder in the ballet.
I thought the book really started at a fast pace but then slowed a bit in the second half. I also don't know too much about ballet so some of the story I felt a bit lost. I really wish there would have been for horror and gore in the story. I think this would have taken the plot to a new exciting level.
