A dark yet beautiful story.

This story opens as Laurence Mesny a scholarship student at the Ballet Academy of Paris is auditioning for their final performance and a spot at the Paris ballet. Laure is determined to prove herself with her best friend Coralie Baumé by her side. Though Laure secretly wants to be like Josephine Moreau a ballerina all the other students both envy and slightly fear. Due to the dark rumors that surround her.Though Laure doesn’t believe the rumors she does wonder if there isn’t a bit of truth to them. Landing the part she most wanted in the academy’s production of Giselle her joy is shattered after overhearing some cruel remarks at the after party. Now with even more desire to prove herself she pushes harder than ever. After a hard fall in a private practice session that Josephine witnessed she offers to share with Laure the dark secrets of her success. Burning to succeed Laure offers herself up to the darkness despite the heavy price. Soon though she realizes it may cost her more than just the agreed upon price it may cost her humanity maybe even her soul.Laure has to ask herself if the brutal yet beautiful world of ballet is worth it.While also finding the enemy who is removing all the people who made a deal with the darkness one by one. Beautifully written and thoroughly dark and entertaining this was a great book.
