The Deadly Ballerina...

The cover immediately catches your attention and lets you know this will not be a light-hearted book. Before the story even starts, there are content warnings, which put me slightly on edge as a reader. The opening scenes of the story seem quite normal, but the dialogue foreshadows what is to come later in the story. The author does a great job of showcasing the competitive nature of ballet. It also shows why the main character would be willing to sacrifice anything to be on top.
