I do read fantasy, and young adult books, but they're not my go-to reads. Nothing in the synopsis or sample really grabbed me with this one, even thought the writing seems okay. After reading the excerpt, it felt more like a new adult (NA) book vs. YA, and that could disappoint some readers. I didn't really get the horror aspect in the part I read, which was a bit disappointing. The cover is likely to grab readers' attentions.
