Intriguing Start

Ok, I want to know more. It starts off with what can only be described as a demon bargain and then suddenly we're at a ballet audition. There isn't a whole lot to go on from the excerpt we were given, but it's enough to know that my curiosity has been piqued and I need to know where the story is going.
