From reading the dedication alone "To those who find freedom in becoming a monster when denied the space to be human", I want to read this book. Anyone who has participated in high levels of music, or technical sports as an underdog knows that feeling so well. "In every room was a chance to have our graceful suffering acknowledged" This book touches on the sacrifice of what it takes to be the best and how easy it is to get lost while chasing perfection. I haven't read YA in a little while, but I am so excited to read this book. YA fantasy can get repetitive, but this is new, this is exciting, and possibly haunting.
