Margaret Jacobsen is terrified of planes, so her "perfect" boyfriend decides to propose to her by showing off his new flying skills. I would have punched this guy in the face and never spoke to him again, but Margaret says yes. She's got goals in life and this is one of them, who cares if the guy is an idiot, right? Then the plane they're in crashes. Margaret wakes up in the hospital and the book starts getting good.
Margaret has to deal with her injuries and what they mean for her future. I thought the author did a great job expressing the stages a person might go though with injuries that severe. While Margaret is coming to terms with her own problems her family is dealing with troubles of their own. There's also a pretty cute love story mixed in as well.
