An okay story about a woman recovering from an accident that changed her life. Maggie never liked to fly so when her amateur pilot boyfriend, Chip, takes her on a surprise flight, she is hesitant, but goes just to please Chip. The flight is okay, but bad weather effects the landing. The plane crash lands and Maggie cannot get out. As Chip goes to get help, the plane starts on fire. Maggie is rescued and taken to a hospital, where she in and out of consciousness. She later learns the extent of her injuries. She has bad burns on her face and back and she may not be able to walk again due to a back injury. She learns she will have to be in the hospital for 6 weeks, the amount of time her insurance covers, and that she will have to have physical therapy. Her physical therapist, Ian, is a handsome and Scottish, but gruff and rude. Chip rarely comes to visit and Maggie falls into a depression spiral. She wants nothing do with anyone especially her estranged older sister, Kitty. After a family fight a few years earlier, Kitty has had no contact with Maggie. Eventually, Maggie gives in and lets Kitty visit her. Being with Kitty helps to improve Maggie’s mood and Kitty tells her why she left, which causes some family drama. The more time Maggie spends with Ian, the more her likes him and gets know him. Neither are if sure their feelings for each other are real or just because of her situation. Can Maggie deal with her new reality? Will Maggie and Ian sort out their feelings?

The story has a fair pace and good characters, but does not live up to the hype printed on the cover. Since the story is told in first person by Maggie, too much of the story is a Maggie pity party. The family drama kept the story interesting. Maggie was very self-centered. She was really privileged, her biggest worry was about her condo. I kept thinking imagine people in your situation without insurance and who have to go back to work right away, Maggie. The only thing that mattered to her was if a guy liked her and when a guy did not like her, she became deeply depressed. Kitty, Ian, and the Maggie’s parents were great characters that kept the story going. Chip was awful and treated Maggie poorly. Maggie’s negative and bleak attitude towards being in a wheelchair may offend paralyzed people. Maggie’s injuries and recovery are discussed, nothing too gory. The story does not have any racy scenes. The ending wraps up the story and is not a cliffhanger. I was not a fan of this book and do not recommend. If you read only one book this year, pick a different book. I received a copy in a giveaway, which did not affect my opinion.
