I took this book (an advance reader copy) along on a weekend trip, thinking I'd dip into it in the evenings. Once I did, however, I didn't want to stop! This is the ideal Summer Read, with engaging (and sometimes infuriating) characters, including a heroine who is plucky enough to pick herself up after a horrific ordeal, but not so plucky that she doesn't first succumb to a range of very real negative thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Prince Charming turns out not to be so charming after all, but rather a bully, a cheat, and a coward. But never mind: our fair heroine rescues herself by accepting a new direction for her life, a wonderful new dream, and the assistance and real support offered by those who truly do love her.
