I am not typically a rom com kind of reader, but Katherine Center isn't a typical rom com kind of author. Weaving together moments of hilarity and solemnity, this is a quick read with an even balance between light hearted and heavy topics.
Katherine Center's protagonist is a woman used to just going with the flow, and who is also clearly underappreciated by her fiancé. In the middle of an unexpected plane crash, everything in her life changes. She has to make choices she never believed she would be faced with. And there are obstacles and setbacks along the way.
Center makes her characters likeable and unlikeable when needed, and she gives her protagonist the appropriate amount of growth to make you love her and eventually root for her and a happy ending.
It also helps that she has a particularly moody, Scottish physical therapist taking care of her recovery. I am a sucker for a good moody, Scotsman.
Highly recommendable, even for non rom com lovers!
