There are not enough words for me to express how much I love Katherine Center books. Filled with complex characters, emotional turmoil, and ultimately hope and joy, How to Walk Away was one of my favorite books read this year.

One of my very favorite things about this start is that there are so many turns in how it could end up. There’s the ending that you hope for, and a few other possibilities, and when you finally make it there, your heart is full.

I also really appreciate the main character’s ability to forgive. There’s such resilience in these pages. Even the characters I like the least, I still wouldn’t mind having to share my life with. Center shies away from making villains of her characters and I appreciate exactly how real they seem. This is not some cliched love story, that is the thing you can be most certain of when picking up this book.
