The excerpt of How to Walk Away really intrigued me, but I didn't know if the rest of the book would deliver. I'm glad to report that I was pleasantly surprised! How to Walk Away is heartbreaking but ultimately, inspiring and emotional. It's about Margaret's recovery after a terrible accident, and the tumultuous highs and lows. A lot of the book is Margaret's self-reflection, and I felt every emotion along with her. Margaret is relatable and believable, and aside from her character, I really liked Kitty and of course, Ian. However, some of the plot did feel a little like a formulaic romantic comedy, sometimes contrived and unrealistic - but that's fine with me because I expected it anyways. I would definitely recommend this book for fans of women's fiction or chick lit!
