This makes me think a lot of "Me Before You." I don't know how close it's going to get, but that's the vibe I get from these first pages.
It is pretty sappy and dramatic in the "most of this isn't life threatening but the main character is going to act like it is" which is annoying. But it seems like it might pick up after the plane crash.
