I thought this was a great opening chapter, it firmly established Margaret’s love for Chip so you have an idea that there’s some pretty heavy emotion ahead, plus I’m completely intrigued by her trouble prone sister. For the cover, it looks more like a vacation than what happens in that first chapter, though perhaps it’s more reflective of something later on, anyway, I do like the bright colors those would definitely catch my eye on a bookshelf or website.
