After reading the first impression so quickly this morning, I realized I never wanted to stop reading. This kept me engaged the entire time. I loved the supportive parents and friendship too. The first person point of view is my preference as it puts me immediately into the main character's life. I also enjoyed the rivalry and other deeper social issues.
