Slow start
The fourth chapter is about where I stopped being bored with this book, before that it felt like nothing was happening. It was just a lot of exposition being spoon-fed to the reader in a way that I found to be trite. The writing style also seemed juvenile even for a YA novel, more like a children's or middle grade book.
On the plus side, the story did begin to pick up once the bulk of the exposition was dumped and some conflict was introduced.
