From the get-go, this book has such cool descriptions of magic. The magic system created by the author seems very personal - Shay puts her own thoughts and feelings into a potion that she is brewing in the opening scene. I like that she has Typical teenager feelings and problems, but they’re magical. I definitely want to read more to find out more about this magical world.
