This is a YA book about navigating high school, friendships, jealousy, competitions, and teen issues, all with the addition of magic! I laughed a few times, especially in chapter one when Shay was working on potions. I enjoyed her easy relationship with her parents. This would be a fun book for teens, while addressing some important issues.
