Can Not WAIT For This to Release!!!

I absolutely devoured these first five chapters this morning. In the 90s I loved Sabrina, Charmed and all the other fun witchy content on TV but it's hard to enjoy today without noticing everything that made it not age well. This book felt like a fresh and modern take on those shows and I love that it did not shy away from addressing problems with racism and systemic oppression right off the bat. Right away we also talk about things like classism with the mother working harder and making less than her licensed boss and queerness with the protagonist being a lesbian. All of this is done in a way that feels natural, not forced, and without losing the fun tone you expect from a YA fantasy set during the high school years. I can't wait for this book to release and to keep reading. I'm sure this will be a book I finish very quickly.
