Alternate Universe with Magic? Heck yes!

The author writes of our world in an alternate universe where magic is prevalent and a way of life. I love that the main character is a queer POC, and that she is so sure of herself. The book seems to be exploring the concept of diversity and systemic racism as well. It's definitely interesting enough that I would want to read more. I like the illustrated cover a lot too.
