story preview doesn't live up to the gorgeous cover

I was intrigued by the gorgeous cover - those blues and oranges! but the sample didn't really interest me very much. The rapport I would have expected between Giada and the gryphon just isn't there. After reading through the goodreads reviews, this seems like a problem that continues throughout the book. I think I'll pass on this one.
