This excerpt was pretty good, but didn't necessarily grab 100% of my attention. I like that the main character has aspirations that differ from what she is told she can or should do. I also like that healing is still part of her goals, even if healing people is not. While it wasn't mentioned in the excerpt, I love that the main character's illustration on the cover depicts a plus sized girl!
