Giada appears to be a bit of a rebel and an interesting young lady. I can understand her love for animals and her feelings they deserve help when hurt or ailing just as humans do. Giada is in conflict with her instructor and it appears her brother as well. I think the author has set up an interesting conflict and story. She writes in a readable, appealing style and will quickly catch the interest of young people and other fantasy readers.
