How to Find What You're Not Looking For is a middle grade novel written by Veera Hiranandani. It tells the story of a young girl who has an older sister who elopes with someone her parents don't support of. It deals with interracial marriage and anti-Semitism. I personally thought the story was well done and written. I loved the way the book was narrated. That being said, considering I am not part of the target audience for this book, I did not enjoy it as much as I would have of if I read this when I was younger. I felt attached to the main character, but couldn't really relate or like the other characters. However, I still definitely reccomend those who are looking for a read like this to try it out because it definitely taught me a lot about certain topics that I did not know too much about, like Judaism and how controversial interracial marriages really were. Give it a shot!
