I really really enjoyed this book. It was pretty different from the books I usually read but I found myself finishing it in one day and absolutely loving it.

It was very well written and the author did an amazing job portraying the struggle of inter-racial marriage. As well as showing the anti-semitism faced by Jewish people. The inclusion of Ariel’s learning disability was great including how it was dismissed by the mother and why.

It was great to see how both the mom and the dad believed they were in the right for disowning Leah and how Ariel perceived that and how it played into her own thoughts and opinions about the topic.

As well as the letters that were hidden by the mother and how the absence of them caused Ariel to feel like Leah no longer loved her or didn’t love her as much as Ariel loved Leah.

I enjoyed that the story allowed for the characters to make mistakes with completely vilifying them and instead allowed them to learn from it.

The dynamic between Raj and Leah was also amazingly done in the couple of scenes we got with them as a couple we saw that they weren’t perfect, that they had arguments. It would of been so unrealistic to glorify them instead of portray them as an actual couple.

All in all, I enjoyed this book so much and the message of sent was great.
