The book is more serious than the cover

The book is more serious than the cover leads you to believe. From the cover, this looks like a fun, fluffy contemporary romance novel. The insides are a historical fiction novel. I don't think the cover matches the innards at all. Maybe a historical photo from the time period would be better instead of this cartoony cover. And I just wasn't quite pulled into the contents.
