Outstanding book -- would make a great book study for middle school
I loved reading books with my 6th grade students when I taught language arts. How to Find What You're Not Looking For is exactly the type of books we studied -- books that encourage students to step into someone else's shoes in a safe but profound way. One of my favorite quotes from the opening chapters: Why would you feel guilty about being happy?
While this book has a familiar style and echoes some modern current events, it also has very unique details that I've never read in a middle grades novel. Definitely a winner!
