Not inclined to read it simply due to age

I appreciate that the story is historical fiction set during the 1967 Loving v. Virginia decision, and I think that it is good content for middle grade students, but I would have a hard time reading this particular book at my adult age. The writing is meant for younger students, as it should be, so my interest level would be low, I imagine. I think it's a great idea for a middle grade story, however.
