This seems to be a historical fiction YA book. It starts out with two sisters who seem to be very different, one being involved in many activites such as dance and other scholarly things and the other who can't be bothered but they now share a secret. Sounds like a coming of age story that grapples with identity, being Jewish and accepting of others of different religions and cultures.
