I read a lot of historical fiction but usually from WWII and never written for a YA audience. I was worried that this book would feel juvenile but I think that the tone is perfect for the main character. The tense is a little weird but after getting into the story I wasn't bothered by it. The author tackles a big subject from a challenging viewpoint and I enjoyed this glimpse into the book.
