Impressed by the subject matter!

The subject matter of this book, especailly for a YA read, grabbed my attention right off the bat. Even in the first few chapters, there is dialogue about racial differences and prejudices and you hear varying sides from different characters through the eyes of a young preteen girl. I grew to like the narrator's voice, as she is clearly young, but is inquisitive and faced with real problems. I'm already intrigued as to how she navigates the rest of the story!
