This is an interesting middle grade book that would provide a lot of openings for important conversations and further learning. The writing felt a little stilted, but that's probably because it's written for a middle grade audience. I like the second person narration because it would pull a child into the story and help them engage empathetically with the characters and the difficulties they face.
