So I have read mostly middle-grade fantasy, not so much historical fiction or contemporary issues. I think that this author has a really clear voice and although the second person point of view throws me off a little bit, I think she is trying to make it feel like the narrator is talking to the reader which they will probably appreciate at that age. It's also important subject matter for that age group. I just don't think as a 33 year old on a fantasy binge that it's really what I need to read right now
