This book follows Biz, a girl dealing with depression after the loss of her father. This book was very powerful in its representation of depression.

The prose was used very well to look into Biz's mindset. This sometimes disjointed writing style never felt forced or did anything to detract from the plot.

The plot itself was very well done. Biz's attachment to photographs and the past were clear tools for her healing journey, and though at times I found myself frustrated with her actions and choices, I would only count this towards the author. When a character feels real enough for me to get angry at them, it's at least a decent book!

As someone with depression, this book made me feel seen. I was so happy to get my hands on it and will think about it for a while.
