I have a lot of respect for this book. It is an honest exploration of mental health, dealing with death and loss in more ways than one and, most importantly it is done in a way that is warm and funny while not shying away from the story she wants to tell. Biz is a warm and loving character, even as she is dealing with her own mental illness. The secondary characters are no less important, with her fiercely loyal best friend Grace, octogenarian friend Silvia and his grandson Jasper. They, along with her mother, all help Biz to begin to deal, not fix her, but accept her for who she is.

Listen all the way to the author’s note in which she shares her own battles, making the story even better and more real. Learning that she has gone through and deals with the feelings she writes about in the book lends even more credibility to the story.
